About Us
Imprimatur Military Books was born in 1992 – as a mail order catalogue and Internet service. Possibly one of the first small business websites in Western Australia.
Mick, retired after 27 years in the Australian Special Forces, created Catalogue #1 from his extensive collection of military history books – covering the many categories still featured today.
260 catalogues and 31 years later, many of thousands of books have changed hands. Collections and surprise finds in the back of dusty old bookshops have met the needs of many military historians, genealogists and eager explorers seeking knowledge of their family, and a greater understanding of the world we inhabit.
Imprimatur Military Books started out as a specialised, niche repository of books and remains so. The monthly catalogue has evolved from a hard copy, posted document to an almost exclusively online list, offering a selection of old, rare and tantalising titles.
Over the last 30 odd years the Bookroom has moved from Mount Claremont, Western Australia, to the Perth Hills and is currently easy to find on the edge of Perth City. Register to receive new catalogues as soon as they are published by signing up to the mailing list on the left hand side of the screen.
Mick and Jo welcome visitors to browse the books most days – by appointment only. Call or email.
